We are so excited that Intelligent Nutrients has finally reached Europe. Intelligent Nutrients was conceived by Horst Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda. After he sold Aveda to Estee Lauder, he wanted to create new brand staying true to the principle of all products being based around food and nature’s ingredients. The result is Intelligent Nutrients, a brand that has already been a huge hit in America for several years now. The basic principle of the brand is that ‘Much of what goes on your skin can be absorbed into it. If it’s good enough to go on your body, it should be good enough to go into your mouth. And conversely, if you wouldn’t put it in your mouth, don’t put it on your skin’. During a press event in NYC, Horst drank his own certified organic hair spray out of champagne glass to prove that his products are safe, non-toxic and natural. (We don't recommend it, though we are thinking of sipping a bit of hair spray out of pure curiosity :-).

We do love the entire Intelligent Nutrients range, it’s so clean with not a nasty ingredient in sight. Some our favourites are:

One look at the ingredients and you find totally natural ingredients like argan oil, red grape seed oil, pumpkin seed oil, black cumin seed oil and black cumin seed oil, a powerful skin healer. Use it at night all face, even eyes.

Intelligent Nutrients Hair Spray (£30): The Organic Perfect Hold hairspray is the one that the creator drank from the champagne glass! It has great hold for your hair, dries quickly and has nice smell. It is powerful so you need to use only little, especially on fine hair.

Intelligent Nutrients Harmonic Shampoo (£16): Despite the lack of sulphate, this shampoo lathers well. The mint smell is refreshing and invigorating. It can be used every day and the large size bottle (444ml) is just great value for money.

Application: The texture of Luzern Micro Exfoliant is very different from any other scrub I’ve used as the beads are not at all abrasive but soft. I would say the texture is more like a cream cleanser with beads in it than a traditional facial scrub. It doesn’t sting or burn and my skin feels clean without feeling tight. Luzern Micro Exfoliant also left my skin very receptive to moisturisers which soaked in quicker than usual. It has a natural, mild scent similar to natural yoghurt which is very pleasant. I love applying this scrub has it is so gentle on my skin but gives impressive results.


Results: Luzern Micro Exfoliant claims to “even the skin tone and renew natural radiance” which it lives up to. My skin has a lovely even colour, feels soft, is pretty much blemish free and looks very radiant. I’ve actually been using less foundation since using this scrub.

Pros:
• Luzern Micro Exfoliant doesn’t dry out my skin.
• Has helped reduce the amount of blemishes I have.
• Makes my skin feel very soft & receptive to any products I use afterwards.


Cons:
• I think £30 is quite a lot for a facial scrub.
• The bottle design isn’t very good. The beads get stuck in the pump.
